Howard Burton
Biography
Burton is responsible for all aspects of policy coordination and implementation regarding the ongoing development of the Perimeter Institute, and has been acting in this capacity since the Institute’s founding in 1999. In keeping with the Institute’s strong outreach mandate, Howard has the occasion to speak at many community events and has become a regular contributor to The Record, writing a weekly column on scientific issues. He holds a BSc in physics and philosophy from the University of Toronto, an MA in philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of Waterloo. In addition to his scientific interests, he has a deep abiding passion for music, theatre and literature.
