Science Goes Hollywood

Research indicates that one of the biggest obstacles that students face in gaining an appreciation for Science/Physics is in the area of "Making Connections." They often find the material uninteresting, and don't see why the material should be relevant to them personally. One way to engage students is to make use of popular media and to discuss how Science/Physics is used in "entertainment." This presentation will make use of several film clips and illustrate how Hollywood uses (or rather, more often misuses) basic Science/Physics principles.
