Engaging Students for Test Review: Teams, Games and Tournament

This workshop will introduce teachers how to engage ALL students around the big ideas prior to unit test review. We will show how a co-operative group structure called Teams, Games and Tournament (TGT), is used to promote competitive fun in an academically safe environment that addresses the key ideas you want your students to understand. Although we will use an example in physics, this strategy can be used at any grade level.

Glenn Wagner has been a physics and science teacher with the Upper Grand District School Board for 22 years. He is constantly trying new ways to increase student thinking and understanding through co-operative and collaborative teaching. And the kids really like it too! He is currently completing his Ph. D. at OISE in the area of knowledge building and collaborative on-line learning.
