Minute to Winit |
Are you looking for a student centered and interactive way to assess prior knowledge on motion, energy changes, forces and momentum in your grade 11 or 12 physics classes? If so this is the workshop for you! The workshop turns the game show “Minute to Win it” (as seen on NBC) into a diagnostic tool, assessment for learning device and a summative activity that keeps students excited about how physics can be applied to amusing challenges. Come prepared to complete interesting challenges and learn how they can be used in the classroom to engage students, give them an opportunity to use the language of physics, work together to grasp concepts all while having fun! |
Nadia Camara is a physics teacher at Richmond Hill High School. She has been teaching for 18 years with the York Region District School Board. On any given day in her classes you can find her students engaged in activities that focus on concept attainment through guided inquiry and sometimes odd but always entertaining activities. She is eager to keep students excited about how what they learn in class can be applied to the world around them. |
